Zizalu is a business sponsor of the Asheville Community Theater (ACT) which stages fabulous theater and offers a venue for our talented community members to showcase their impressive skills. ACT also provides kids living in more rural WNC settings with an opportunity to experience live theater - often for the first time. Add to this their educational programs and you've got an organization that enriches the lives of so many in our city. Learn more at www.ashevilletheatre.org
We are also 'Friends' of the Diana Wortham Theater, a small, intimate theater which seats 500- however don't let that fool you! They offer live performances of music, theatre and dance throughout the year by nationally touring artists as well as a wide array of performances by professional and avocational regional arts groups. In 2013, over 9,000 students, teachers and parents from 16 counties in WNC attended the theater as part of educational programs Diana Wortham provides. We are pleased to support this wonderful organization that brings excellent entertainment to our fair city. Learn more at www.dwtheatre.com
Given that our official studio greeter hails from the Asheville Humane Society, Zizalu is a member of the AHS Leadership Circle and also volunteers to support their mission of saving abandoned and abused dogs in Asheville. Silas, the 3-legged Avant-Guard Dog is pictured below in our studio...as always, hard at work
The Asheville Humane Society rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes over 6,000 homeless animals each year in our community. Here at Zizalu, we love AHS for recognizing greatness in (and saving) our favorite employee. Learn more at www.ashevillehumane.org
Zizalu donates auction items each year to the Western North Carolina Aids Project's annual fundraiser and assists with Asheville's Dining Out For Life. This year, the restaurant where we were 'Ambassadors' raised the second highest amount for WNCAP in town (because we're that good!). Learn more at www.wncap.org
Donation requests are accepted via email for review. Please understand that as a small art studio and independently owned business, we are unable to fulfill all requests. Zizalu only considers not for profit organizations (501c3's) that directly impact our local community.
